Your questions, answered
Yes, you can use our free quiz maker. From the editor, just click on the Elements tab, and select any template under Polls and Quizzes. With a Canva Pro subscription, you can access more features like Pro elements, anonymous responses, and aggregated data insights.
Whether you’re a teacher, speaker, event host, or self-starter, a quiz can make learning so much more enjoyable. Use interactive quizzes to energize a training session, break up the monotony of a long lecture, capture leads, and keep your audience interested.
Plus, the insights you get can change the game, literally. With the data from test takers, you can identify which topics are harder to understand, who needs extra help, where you should focus next, and what you can do to engage your learners more effectively.
The Canva quiz maker currently supports plain text questions, enabling a range of question types, such as:
- True or False
- Fill in the Blanks
- Multiple Options
Looking for other question types? We’re cooking something in the test kitchen for our test maker. Keep an eye out for more.
The Canva quiz maker supports only one question per quiz element. That said, you can add as many (or as few) quiz elements as you want to your design.
Yes, you can add a quiz to any design project in Canva, except Canva Docs and Websites.
Once you’re done setting up the quiz, simply share the design via email or a link—participants can answer right in the Canva editor. You can also publish and embed your quiz on a Canva presentation or other designs (except Docs and Websites), making it even easier to get those responses rolling in.
There’s no limit to how many people can take your quiz and how many responses you can collect. Participants typically can’t change their answers—that is, unless you update the field options and the user resets the quiz. In this case, their response/s will be erased, and they can retake the test.
After answering a question, everyone can see the correct answer and the total responses.
For more detailed information, you’ll need Editing permission to the design. You can view the results for individual questions by selecting the quiz element and clicking on the Responses tab in the toolbar.
With a Canva Pro subscription, you can access the aggregated data of the entire quiz by clicking the Insights icon at the top-right section of the editor.
It’s easy to save the results of your quiz with Canva—just open the Responses tab and click Download as CSV for a copy.
Here’s how to create a quiz that’s more fun and engaging:
- Unless you’re hosting an entire trivia night, keep it short and sweet—around 5-10 questions at most. Too many questions may discourage people from finishing your quiz.
- Add illustrations, images, and other visuals to your quiz to avoid eye fatigue. You can find millions of these for free in our media library.
- Switch up your quiz every now and then by playing with question types, order, and content. This keeps your students on their toes and encourages them to study more thoroughly.
- Reward test takers whenever they get something right with encouraging phrases like “Good job!” or “That’s correct!” If they get it wrong, explain briefly why.
While both polls and quizzes ask a question, quizzes have right and wrong answers. This is why they’re best used to gauge someone’s knowledge or understanding.
On the other hand, polls are typically used to collect opinions or feedback on something, such as favorite foods or where to go on your next group vacation.
When using Canva, you can change your answer on polls. However, you can’t change your quiz answers once you’ve confirmed them.
